About $9.5 billion, 832-mile coastal railway is being planned by the government of Peru, confirmed by Jose Gallardo Minister for Transportation and Communications.
The railway project will connect northern region of Piura, and with Ica, a region in southern Peru, the Minister said in his statement.
This large investment project is being planned, keeping in mind a long-term vision of driving growth and development in Lima, Ica, Ancash, La Libertad, Lambayeque and Piura regions.
This coastal rail project is going to be a futuristic and modern infra-project, and will cater to the demand for transportation for people and freight on the coast
The Lima Metro’s Line 2, linking cities of Huancayo and Huancavelica, and the Central Railroad improvement project, are the two other important projects, government is seriously working upon.
