Alstom T&D India has bagged a Rs. 55 Cr.contract to deliver 4 x 180MW transformers, 13 x 75MVA, 400kV generators, 80 MVAR, 400kV reactor for Mangdechhu hydroelectric project in Bhutan.
Alstom will design, engineer, manufacture, supply, transport, erect, test and commission the generator transformer, shunt reactor and the related equipment for the project.
The company will supply all the required equipments for the project from its Naini plant.
Bhutan’s hydropower potential is estimated at about 25,000MW by the Central Electricity Authority of India. Mangdechhu project is one of the projects planned under the 10,000MW hydropower development by 2020 by governments of Bhutan and India jointly.
