Bangladesh to link power line with India - infrabuddy.com

The two countries, India and Bangladesh have agreed on laying a transmission line between both the countries. This has given a major boost to Bangladesh’s plan to import  100 megawatt electricity from India’s northeast state of Tripura.

The transmission line will transport electricity from 726MW thermal power project at Palatana in Gomati district and will connect Suryamaninagar power sub-station in Agartala to Comilla in Bangladesh.

The Indian government will construct a transmission line of about 24 kms from Suryamaninagar substation up to Konaban, and Bangladesh government will be responsible for construction of the same from Konaban, to Comilla grid ; a distance of about 27km (cost approximately Tk135 cr). Cost of the Indian side of work is not yet confirmed.
