The Central government will invest Rs 3,000 crore to boost the Dholera Special Investment Region (DSIR), a key project in the DMIC – The Delhi Mumbai Industrial Corridor region.
DMICDC – The Delhi Mumbai Industrial Corridor Development Corporation and the Gujarat government will sign a MoU and form a new SPV – special purpose vehicle to expedite the project.
In the SPV, 51% and 49% equity will be owned by the Gujarat government and DMICDC respectively. Rs 3,000 crore funding to develop basic infrastructure projects such as roads, rail linkages and flood control systems would come from DMICDC, and the Gujarat government will provide 900 sq km land (of equal worth in a notified area ).
In the positive development, the government has transferred 70,430 acres of land to the regional development authority – RDA; in respect to implementation of phase-I, It has also cleared six town planning schemes and tenders for roads and other infrastructure development projects worth around Rs 1,800 crore have been already issued.
