In Punjab province in Pakistan almost 46 sites have been selected where small-scale solar power projects will be set up to counter power shortage woes,
Keeping in mind the essentiality of resolving energy crisis and boost trade and economic activities in the region which would eventually eradicate poverty and create more employment. Punjab Government is planning to exploit potential in Punjab for generation of solar energy.
Currently most affected areas are ‘education’, ‘health’ and ‘agriculture’ which are hampering growth in the province of Punjab, Pakistan. Hence provintial government will set up a 100MW solar project in Bahawalpur on its own and which will be operational immediately y the end of the year.
Punjab government is also planning on coal, hydel, biogas and biomass options to generate more and more power to solve current energy problems.
