Hindustan Zinc, a Vedanta group company has announced completion of 10,000 of the proposed 40,000 toilets in rural Rajasthan under the ‘Maryadaa’ programme.
Taking forward Swachh Bharat Campaign; the global leaders in production of zinc, lead and silver has joined the Swachh Bharat Abhiyan, and has launched special drives at all its locations and surroundings.
“Soon 80 villages will become open defecation free in Rajasthan,” HZL spokesperson Pavan Kaushik said.
Maton, Rela, Nevatalai, Chanawda, Dabok, Bansen and Parasrampura in the vicinity of Maton Mines, Zawar Mines, Zinc Smelter Debari Mines, Chittorgarh and Rampura Agucha Mines which have become open defecation free with construction of toilets. Great amount of persuasion and counseling for construction, use and maintenance of toilets has gone in it.
Vedanta Group Chief Anil Agarwal, has directed all his business locations to carry out a special cleanliness drive. In true sense Vedanta’s joins Prime Minister’s call for Swachh Bharat through its ‘Maryadaa’ campaign. The company’s operations in India are located in Rajasthan, Chattisgarh, Orissa, Tamil Nadu, Goa and Punjab. At most of the locations, Vedanta has developed its townships for employees.
