IL&FS to develop multiple big ticket projects in Gujarat

IL&FS – Infrastructure Leasing and Financial Services Ltd is planning to invest about Rs. 35,000 crore in two power plants in Kutch, Gujarat. One coal-fired and another gas-fired with 4000MW and 2000MW in capacity respectively.

Plans are already in place to set up two power generation facilities combining 6,000 MW capacities in the multi-product Special Economic Zone at Kutch.

The cost of Rs. 28004.65 crore for 4000MW of coal based power project and Rs. 7, 187 crore for the 2000 MW of gas-based power project will be raised through a mix of debt and equity funds.

The company in agreements with the Gujarat Maritime Board, Government of Gujarat is to develop Shipyard, Captive Jetties and LNG Terminal at Nana Layja. Company is also to develop SEZ and Free Trade and Warehousing Zone (FTWZ).

Over the next three years, the Kutch district in the state of Gujarat is looking to attract investment of about Rs. 40,000 crore in the sectors like power, cement and minerals.
