India’s longest ‘Lucknow to Agra’ expressway to complete in two years

Foundation stone was laid by Samajwadi Party chief Mulayam singh Yadav of a 302-km long, 110-meter wide, six lane expressway, which promises to bring travel time between two important cities (Lucknow and Agra) in the north Indian state of Uttar Pradesh to four hours.

This expressway is expected to change the entire economic landscape of the state of Uttar Pradesh; hence the government is looking forward to complete construction of this project within two years.

85% of the land required for the project has been already acquired by UPEIDA – the UP Expressway Industrial Development Authority.

The Rs 15,000-crore project will attract industries and therefore create jobs in the state of Uttar Pradesh, which would give a much-needed push to the state’s economy.

While L&T would build 63 kms of  Lucknow-Unnao stretch, Afcons, NCC Ltd, PNC Infratech will develop 64 km Unnao-Kannauj and 62-km Etawah-Ferozabad portions,  57-km Etawah-Kannauj stretch and Agra-Ferozabad, 56-km portion respectively under the EPC (Engineering, Procurement, Construction) model, which has been divided into five parts.
