India has commenced process to supply 100MW of power from Tripura to Bangladesh, as one of the initiatives among various steps taken to fulfil India’s commitment of supplying 100 MW of power to Bangladesh from its northeastern state of Tripura, Palatana power plant,” Sandeep Chakravorty, Indian deputy high commissioner in Dhaka informed after his meeting with Manik Dey, minister for power, Tripura.
He further informed reporters that ‘The Power Grid Corporation of India Limited (PGCIL)’ would lay a transmission line from Surjyamaninagar, western Tripura power grid to Comilla (in eastern Bangladesh) power grid to supply the power.”
