L&T Construction secures contracts worth Rs. 2,050-crore

L&T Construction has secured orders worth Rs 2,050 crore across various business segments in last two months.Its power transmission and distribution arm has received orders worth Rs 1,213 crore.

Larsen & Toubro Saudi Arabia, fully-owned subsidiary of L&T has managed to bag a major international order from the National Grid (a subsidiary of Saudi Electricity Company) for the construction of an extra high voltage double circuit transmission line as long as 192 kilometres.

Design, engineering, testing and supply of Extra High Voltage (EHV) transmission towers, conductors, insulators, other transmission accessories, testing and commissioning of the line will be entirely L&T’s responsibility for this project which will be completed in two years.

Apart from this company also bagged projects from Tamil Nadu Transmission Corporation for establishing 400/230kV air- insulated switchgear and gas-insulated switchgear substations at Karamadai near Coimbatore, Poiyur near Trichy and at Chennai Central and also from West Bengal State Electricity Distribution Company Ltd for the supply, erection, testing and commissioning of 33/11 kV medium voltage substations as part of the power distribution network under RAPDRP in major towns of West Bengal.

Buildings and Factories business has secured orders worth Rs 775 crore out of which two are new orders.
