Mumbai Port trust to have new projects

An announcement has been made by the Ministry of Shipping of swing of projects to come up on 18,000 acres under the Mumbai port Trust ,along the eastern shore of the city which involves the construction of a cruise terminal, waterways projects, a 500-room floating hotel to be anchored off the Raj Bhavan coast, three to four floating restaurants, a Ferris wheel on the lines of the London Eye, and marinas and jetties to promote intra-city water transport in Mumbai.

To put forward the execution of the project ,the ministry plans to form a panel under the former chairperson Rani Jadhav which will consist urban planners ,landscape artists, transportation experts ,director of the JJ school of Art and Maharashtra urban development secretary ,in the midddlee of all .It has been asked to report in three months. Once the report for the project is completed, the ministry will float a global tender and award the project on BOT basis.
