NTPC, Andhra Pradesh Govt agree to accelerate power projects

NTPC Chairman Arup Roy Choudhury today discussed issues relating to various power projects during his meeting with N.Chandrababu Naidu, Chief Minister of Andhra Pradesh, which held in New Delhi.

The discussion also included a proposed project at  Pudimadaka near Vizag. This project is proposed by NTPC to establish 4,000 MW and 1,000 MW projects (coal based thermal power station near Vizag and a large Solar Power Plant of 1,000 MW respectively).

Government of Andhra Pradesh has shown its readiness for allotment of over 5,000 acres of land at a concessional rate to NTPC. NTPC informed it has completed technical bid process for phase I of 250 MW of solar plants.

Expansion plan of the 2,000 MW NTPC Simhadri power plant also was discussed.

The Chief Minister of Andhra Pradesh and the chairman NTPC both agreed that the execution of the said projects need to be on the fast track.
