Projects worth Rs157 Bn in Pakistan approved by Executive Committee of National Economic Council

The Executive Committee of National Economic Council Has approved the Karachi Metro Bus project with a modified design and revised cost along with some more key projects

Some of the projects approved by the economic body are as mentioned below

Construction of 120 km Islamabad-Raikot Section phase I – a part of the Pakistan-China Economic Corridor, worth Rs. 95.4 billion.

The Green Line Bus Rapid Transit System for Karachi worth Rs. 16.1 billion. As per the revised design, a 17.8 km two-lane signal free Bus Rapid Transit corridor will help commute 400,000 passengers every day.

Procurement of six maritime patrol vessels (MPVs) for the Pakistan Maritime Security Agency at a cost of Rs13.9 billion

The special repair of 100 diesel electric locomotives at an estimated cost of Rs. 5 billion Tto significantly improve, Pakistan Railways Freight and passenger service.

75 MW capacity, two power generation projects, 40MW hydropower project at Dowarian worth Rs. 6 billion and the 35MW Nagdar hydropower project in district Neelum, worth Rs. 6.9 billion.

The project for improvement and modernization of financial reporting and auditing Phase II, with an estimated cost of Rs.10.4 billion, which includes foreign loan of Rs8.9 billion.

The Rs. 3.8 billion Project, which will be sponsored by Livestock and Dairy Development Department, Punjab is going to boost net income of targeted households by 50 per cent and reduce almost 33 per cent in mortality of live stock.
