Reliance Power begins operations of 100MW solar CSP project in India

Reliance Power has commissioned and synchronized with grid; its 100MW $341mn, world’s largest CSP CLFR technology based project in Dhursar,district, Jaisalmer, Rajasthan, India.

Multilateral agencies, Asian Development Bank (ADB), Export Import Bank of USA, Financerings Maatschappu Voor Ontwikkelingslanden NV (FMO), Netherlands and Axis Bank financed this project through debt.

Rajasthan Sun Technique Energy – wholly owned subsidiary of Reliance Power, was selected for the construction of the power plant under the Jawaharlal Nehru National Solar Mission, in December 2010.

 CFLR technology, is provided by Areva Solar, the US subsidiary of the France-based Areva, The technology is simple in design and has minimum ill effects on environment.

Reliance Power now has a generation capacity of 5,285MW, i.e. 5,100MW of thermal capacity and 185MW of renewable energy respectively.
