Rs. 1.2 lakh crore, five year, solar plan to engage qualified unemployed youth

An Rs 1.2 lakh crore scheme is being planned by the Government of India where, it plans to set up 20,000 MW capacity solar power projects, through qualified unemployed or under-employed youth in the span of next five years.

This 20,000 MW of capacity which is, one fifth of the total target of 1, 00,000 MW solar power capacities by 2021-22 set by the Government. The plan is that the Centre would funds of Rs 16,050 crore to help keep power tariffs under this scheme reasonably affordable for state usage.

Youth, who is under 35 years of age and posses a B.Tech, MBA or M.Com degree, and either un employed or under-employed, would be eligible for getting a project under the scheme by applying on their own or in partnership with companies and societies.
