Rs 1,202-cr Karnataka power project EPC contract bagged by BHEL

Diesel plant which is suspended currently will be replaced with the new one.

KPCL – The Karnataka Power Corporation Limited awarded an EPC contract worth Rs. 1202 Crore to the State-owned BHEL – Bharat Heavy Electricals Limited to set up a CCPP – Combined Cycle Power Plant. BHEL will be responsible to supply and commissioning of a fuel-efficient Advanced-class Gas Turbine.

KPCL’s first gas-based utility power project contract involves installation of a 370 Mw Gas Turbine (GT)-based CCPP at Yelahanka near Bengaluru. This plant will be a replacement of the old diesel generator-based power plant of 128 Mw capacity, which has not been operating due to environmental issues.
