The Maharahstra chief minister had sanctioned Rs 4,240.78 crore budget to MMRDA that is impelling on improving infrastructure in the Mumbai Metropolitan Region. The budget approved by the government is focusing on the vital infrastructure projects to be implemented by the Mumbai Metropolitan Region (MMR) including projects of metro rail, mono rail, flyovers, development of road network.

The government has allotted Rs 634 crore and Rs 400 crore to Mumbai Metropolitian Region Development Authority ,of these Rs 634 crore, Rs 500 crore has been allocated for the Colaba-Bandra-Seepz corridor and Rs 4 crore has been kept in side for the various learning on the Charkop – Bandra – Mankhurd metro, probably which will be underground .The construction work for the second phase of the monorail project from Wadala to Sant Gadge Maharaj Chowk is progressively speeding up and is likely to be competed by next year . The arrangement of Rs 3,268 have been made by the authority for the extended infrastructure projects in mumbai to be executed in MMR for which Rs Rs 650 crore has been given out for the development projets like constructing four flyovers, a bridge over Revas creek and two bridges at Mankoli-Motegaon road and Kalyan-Bhiwandi NH-222 near Ulhas creek.

This also includes broadening and improvement of a road network from Takka Colony to Palaspe Phata on NH-4, Khopoli City Ring Road, Bhiwandi Ring Road, Kalyan Ring Road and the link road connecting Shirgaon Phata and Badlapur. The arrangements made by the officials for the flyovers of Rs 215 crore , for the improvement of road network, among others under the Mumbai Urban Infrastructure Project and Rs 1,000 crore for MUTP-2 as the Mumbai Rail Vikas Corporation is expected to purchase new trains during FY’15.The provisions of Rs 128.88 crore has also been made for the the water resources development in MMR, Rs 65 crore for providing civic amenities in Bandra Kurla Complex, Rs 50 crore for Sewri-Worli connector and Rs 25 crore each for Mumbai Trans Harbour Link, Wadala Truck Terminus and Virar-Alibaug Multi-Modal corridor. MRDA is also making the arrangements for the repairs and beautification of Neral-Dasturi Road, Dasturi-Matheran Road and exhibition spots at Matheran.
