Solar power plants in Jordan : Scatec Solar ASA, will complete construction of three solar-run power plants in the south of Jordan in the second half of 2015; company confirmed only after securing $100 million funding.
Scatec Solar ASA, along with its partners is into a financing agreement of about $100 Mn out of total estimated investments of about $135 Mn for the development and construction of 43 MW three solar power plants.
EBRD – European Bank for Reconstruction and Development and Société de Promotion et de Participation pour la Coopération Economique – Proparco, a French development agency will be providing the debt financing.
Three solar power plants will be built in Maan, which is approximately 220km south of Amman, the capital city of Jordan. These plants will be jointly developed by Scatec Solar and its Jordanian partners, Quest Energy Investment LLC, European Jordanian Renewable Energy Projects LLC and Greenland Alternative Energy LLC.
Generated solar power will be sold under a 20-year PPA – power purchase agreement to the National Electric Power Company.
