SMEC India a unit of SMEC, Australia Acquires Bengaluru based Leadrail Infra Solutions

SMEC India, a group company of infrastructure consultancy firm SMEC, Australia has acquired Leadrail Infra Solutions, based in Bengaluru.

Leadrail a railway engineering services company which provides including tracks, alignment, bridge and structure design services, has been a sub-consultant to SMEC for a sulphur wagon loading facility in Saudi Arabia and designing of ballastless track for the Bridge Project in Bangladesh i.e. Padma Multipurpose bridge.

Leadrail has been a part of other metro projects I the country like Hyderabad metro, Bangalore metro, Chennai metro, Ahmadabad metro and Monterrey, it has also worked upon rail projects for Rail Vikas Nigam, Southern Railway, South Western Railway and East Central Railway, as well as Network Rail.

SMEC provides consultancy services like pre-feasibility and feasibility studies, field investigations, laboratory testing, computer modelling, detailed designing, tender and contract management, construction supervision, quality assurance, commissioning, operation and maintenance, training and project management for the lifecycle of projects across sectors like transport, water, environment, geotechnics and tunnels, urban development, hydropower and energy, government and advisory services, social development, and mining, oil and gas. It employs 5000 people and has presence across 70 offices in Australia, Asia, the Middle East, Africa and North and South America.
