Iraq’s southern Dhi Qar governorate plans to invest USD430 million in power generation parojects in the next three years to add 2,000 MW to its capacity.
This is in regards to govt’s move to tackle power shortage as is suffering from a real power generation crisis.
These projects will add a total 2,000 MW to take the overall capacity to 3,000 MW. Another project is approved to build a of 1,000 MW power plant in the north of Nasiriyah.
One more 1,000-MW plant is under consideration and planned to be constructed in Suq Al Shuyukh in south Dhi Qar.
