SPV to expedite rail projects in Gujarat

Gujarat government and Union Railway Ministry, joinly will set up a Special Purpose Vehicle (SPV) to accelerate railway projects in Gujarat, said raileway minister Suresh Prabhu. He also added saying that, he and Gujarat Chief Minister Anandibai Patel both have agreed that the rail projects in Gujarat need acceleration.

Mr. Suresh Prabhu also assured all the assistance required to find solutions to all railway related issues and suggested to form a ‘joint task force’.

Since various railway projects in the state of Gujarat are vital in faster development of DFC – Dedicated freight corridor and DMIC – Delhi Mubai Industrial Corridor (Gujarat area), CM Anandibai Patel has requested Railway ministry’s help.

A requests like, to connect Gandhinagar with the capitals of other states, an integrated transport system – regional rail and metro rail transport system to connect Gandhinagar and Ahmedabad have been submitted to the Union Railway Ministry. The Railway minister has assured that he would take all this in consideration.
