The Uttar Pradesh Government has formed a committee represented under the Lucknow Divisional commissioner for obtaining private land for the Lucknow metro if required.The formed committee will talk to the land owners and purchase the land for the project and apart from this the layout of the acquisition plan is expected to be prepared within the next 10 days.
The Lucknow Metro Rail Corporation is expecting to start the work from October 2014 and the estimated cost of the project is Rs 8,000 crore and is expected to be completed by December 2016. The phase –I of the project include the 23 km north-south corridor connecting Lucknow Airport to Munshi Pulia with three underground and 18 elevated stations.
