Work of four new ultra mega power projects begins

Bihar, Jharkhand and Odisha power projects together will add 16,000 MW.

Process of setting up four new ultra mega power projects in Bihar, Jharkhand and Odisha has been initiated by the government.
Power Finance Corporation, in consultation with the state government has commenced work on Rs. 25000 crore thermal power project UMPP of 4,000 MW capacity,

State of Odisha, Bihar & Jharkhand will get two, one and one UMPPs respectively. Jharkhand project land acquisition process is complete and Bihar and Odisha projects sites have been identified.
